Course in Taxicare - Taxi Operator

The VTTD has given Taxi Industry Training Victoria (TITV); a wholly owned training subsidiary of the VTA expressed approval to deliver the Course in Taxicare – Taxi Operator. The Course has been customized to reflect current operational standards in Victoria .

The Course provides new taxi operators with the knowledge and skills to manage their business effectively.

The Course consists of five modules, which with the assessments and projects must be completed satisfactorily, in order to receive the Course credential.

The five modules, including key learning outcomes are:

• Module 1: Taxi Operator Function
  
• Module 2: Taxi Vehicle Equipment
  
• Module 3: Taxi Business Management
  
• Module 4: Manage Taxi Drivers
  
• Module 5: Develop and Promote Business

The total nominal duration of the Course is 45 hours and includes training manual, resource kit, course visuals, model agreements and forms, roadworthiness assurance program, catering and more.

As of 1 February 2003, all new Metropolitan Taxi Zone taxi operators need to undertake and satisfactorily complete the Course in Taxicare – Taxi Operator prior to licence assignment or transfer approval.
